Areas of Focus
Andy Opila has experience on the frontlines helping companies improve operations and deliver on the brand promise – “make” and “sell.”  His areas of expertise include strategic communication, branding and marketing, and internal communication and employee engagement.  While Andy has extensive experience and expertise in communications, he has chosen to focus on helping leadership engage people in operations to deliver improvements in safety, productivity and quality, as well as in sales channel performance.  Andy also has supported companies in collective bargaining, with the UAW, CAW, Machinists and Steelworkers, among others.

Corporate Experience
Before working with Tracy and On the Same Page, Andy was vice president, branding and marketing for International Truck and Engine Corporation, the operating company of Navistar International, and led the communication function at M. A. Hanna Company, an international specialty chemicals company that acquired seven businesses while Andy was there.  At Chicago-based Navistar, an $8-billion truck and engine manufacturer, he developed a defined brand promise that became the mantra of employees and dealers across the company, focusing priorities and driving action.  As the only communications professional at the $2 billion, publicly traded M.A. Hanna Company, Andy’s responsibilities ranged from financial communications to marketing communications, and from internal communications to community relations. 

Industry Involvement
Andy has shared his experiences with others at the Advanced Learning Institute; Conference Board; Public Relations Society of America; Strategic Communications Management Summit, Employee Engagement:  “Building a High Performance Workforce;” and Cleveland Advertising Club’s 10-week Public Relations Curriculum.
