Creating a platform for the new culture

THE CHALLENGE
The chairman of a global retail bank challenged the company to shake off its complacency and step up to an unprecedented level of operational and financial performance. In response, the HR department developed and implemented a range of programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing performance. Far from feeling focused and supported, managers and employees were distracted and distraught by what they perceived to be a raft of disparate changes that only added to their over extended workload.

OUR WORK
We formed and facilitated a core team of HR representatives, senior line managers, and communication professionals to define the future state of the business, articulate the business case for the culture change, and position the various programs and initiatives within a broader context. We crafted periodic messages from the chairman and worked with the communication team to implement a series of ongoing vehicles and support tools, including line-of-business specific manager’s toolkits.

THE RESULTS
In the year following the launch of the culture platform, employee satisfaction rose, and both productivity and efficiency increased.
